Beyond the Palette is a journey that moves beyond the visual, inviting all peoples to connect, celebrate and learn.
It’s not just colour- it’s emotion, storytelling and a powerful way of sharing culture through art.
Our artworks are rooted in our connection to Country, self, family and community. Each symbol, each animal and each mark honours our family, our ancestors and voices that were not always fully heard.
As Jazz and Kristal Matthews of Wilay Designs, we create with cultural pride, passion, and purpose- inviting all to connect, reflect and empower one another through this shared journey.
As you walk through Beyond the Palette, we invite you to slow down, take it all in, and connect with the stories and meanings held within each artwork. We hope this space allows Mob and all peoples to reflect, connect and appreciate the beauty of Country through our eyes.

The meaning of Ngunawal is "We the people, or us".
Ngunawal people lived in an area roughly bounded by the towns of Braidwood, Goulburn, Boorowaa, Harden, Gundagaii and Cooma. The ACT is included within this area.
The term Ngarrindjeri means "Belonging to men".
